This group of current high-school parents and long-time supporters of Flat Rock athletics run a full agenda. They are busy preparing for the kick-off of the new school year and fall sports. Needless to say, they need a lot of help. Unfortunately, this is not unique to the Ram Boosters. There are always too few people (often the same people from group to group) doing too much of the heavy lifting.
Really it only takes a little bit of time to give back for all the enjoyment you and your kids get back from these organizations.
One of the areas where they need some extra help is in running the concessions. This is really a simple job, but takes several people. Have you ever enjoyed a hot dog (or two) at a Flat Rock football game? How about asking how you can help?
I encourage you to stop by the next Ram Booster meeting on September 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Flat Rock High School media center. You don’t have to be a student athletes’ parent, just a fan.
Also, as you are out and about Flat Rock I would encourage you to thank a few of the people I had the chance to meet and do so much for all the athletic programs in Flat Rock:
- Jeff Metz
- Chuck Slavin
- Don Shannon (the man to talk to about helping with concessions)
- Gail Potratz
- Dawn Guyot
- Eric Painter
I am sure there are more and I look forward to meeting more of you as I pitch in too. Oh, and by the way don’t miss these varsity home openers:
- 8/28 – Flat Rock Boys Soccer v. Airport – 4:30 p.m.
- 9/11 – Flat Rock Boys Football v. CC – 7:00 p.m.
- 9/14 – Flat Rock Girls Volleyball v. Huron – 6:00 p.m.
